Decima is the Italian company producing the southernmost e-liquid of the whole italian boot, based in Palermo and, as we have already said other times, like other Italian manufacturers, it certainly deserves much more emphasis and visibility on the national stage of the sector, certainly much more than it is granted, by the main promoters and vape tubers that populate the network, to some foreign productions.

The Palermitan brand has distinguished itself for some years for its products of the highest quality able to offer a degree of fidelity to real products that inspire truly high. Cannolo di Sicilia tells you anything?

Today we are struggling with a new line created by the Giliberto Family called the Galactic Steam Series. It is a line of fruity and fresh aromatic shots suitable for the summer season (60 ml easy unicorn bottles containing 20 ml of glycolic flavor). Exuberant in terms of taste and smell lemon and mandarin give back the integrity of the flavor-aroma of the fruit from which they derive. Balanced and delicate mix of exotic and allogenic fruits complete the series. Abduction, Final Space, Contact and Visit are the names of the four creations of this line.

The first flavor that will pass under the spotlight of The Flavourist is Abduction:

To placate the perception of the heat in the course of the sunny Sicilian summers for centuries, the magic renounceable ritual is always the same: to taste a lemon granita. With the cool that freezes the brain is pure delight to feel the smells and flavors of the soft mountain of sugar, lemon and water of this ancient delicacy. Abduction is the liquid that does not evoke, but reproduces in steam the freshness, the flavors and the smells of the mythical Sicilian lemon granita.

Decima does not hide its ambitions in officially describing its creation and speaks to us of liquid that does not evoke a lemon granita but goes beyond, it is able to reproduce it at 100% from the aromatic point of view. To do this, the manufacturer has guaranteed us, among other things, to have used a natural extract of Sicilian lemons. And actually, as soon as we uncorked the bottle for the usual smell test, we were invested by an incredible citrus scent!

The lemon extract stands out decisively accompanied by an evident sugared dose, to go to compose a very tasty and realistic olfactory picture that very closely resembles a slightly sweetened lemon juice and ready to be drunk.

After some tests on different feeding systems, I decided to officially test Abduction on the Wotofo Recurve RDA designed by Mike Vapes, a very good atom from the aromatic point of view for a flavor chasing vape.

So I’m going to start the vaporization test ready to find out if the ambitious declarations of the manufacturer will find confirmation in the clouds of steam or if a bit of presumption prevails in the Decima house in the realization of a recipe that, although simple on paper, it does not always reach the right level of fidelity to the real product it is inspired.

The first puff is enough to receive my answers. Abduction is not an e-liquid complex that requires time and attention to be understood and analyzed; when the penetrating force of a real lemon juice manifests itself from the very first seconds of the puff, I understand that the Decima boys for the umpteenth time has hit the mark. During the first puffs, in inspiration, the sour notes of the lemon and its acidity appear decisive and stimulating, leaving me also the possibility to clearly distinguish between the acrid and acute timbre of its nutritious rind.

The use of a pure extract of Sicilian lemons has certainly contributed to an aromatic yield so realistic and natural, but it is not just about the lemon … As the preparation of a tasty and creamy lemon granita requires, even for the e-liquid granita by Decima, care and attention to the sugary component has proved to be fundamental for the success of this e-liquid. If in reality warm water is mixed with sugar to form a real syrup, even before adding the lemon, and then the mixture is turned at regular intervals of time during freezing to ensure the granita a creamy consistency, in Abduction I do not know which chemical alchemy has made to reach an effect so identical to the reality!

The sugary component, dosed to perfection, binds itself in the heart of the puff with the lemon extract without ever taking away their natural incisiveness, but ensuring a roundness of vaping that together with its naturalness, is the real highlight of Abduction. Even the powerful but not overpowering ice effect is perceived as an integral part of the recipe, amalgamating itself to the bouquet in a gradual “crescendo” as you increase the intensity and the frequency of the vape.

Incredible is the thirst-quenching feeling that I get vaping and then I imagined to savor at the same time a nice icy granita of lemons and Abduction …

And in truth I tell you: I did it!
