Ermete (Diplomatic E-liquid)

Ermete (Diplomatic E-liquid)

Name and Format: Ermete (Diplomatic) – Concentrated flavour 10 ml

Batch: AR102020

Expiry date: 11/2023

Used Base: 47.5 PG / 47.5 VG / 5 H2O

Diplomatic E-liquid is a new Italian vape manufacturing company based in Taranto. Although the brand has appeared on the Italian vape scene only few months ago, the Cucci family, owner of the company, is certainly not new to the sector thanks to the long previous experience with the ToB Italia brand. Starting from today, therefore, I will begin to try the aromas of this new brand for you, starting with what is considered the diamond tip of the whole line: Ermete.

It is useless to hide it, Ermete already evokes and emulates from the name a well-known Italian aroma which, especially in the three-year period 2014-2016, was one of the top selling flavors in Italy. It must be said that precisely that aroma has changed its formulation over time, according to what was reported by the Cucci family, while with Ermete, Diplomatic promises to re-propose the original formula of the old brand’s aroma, a formula that made it one of the most popular tobaccos ever.

The range of Diplomatic products is really very wide, because there are currently over thirty aromas marketed, all in the concentrated aroma format in 10 milliliter bottles.

The manufacturer gives us this description of its Hermes aroma:

Ermes il messaggero degli Dei ti porta un dolce messaggio, fatto di un tabaccoso dolce che non stanca mai, le sue diverse note lo rendono speciale ed unico nel suo genere, accogli il messaggio e sentiti un “Dio”.

Ermete the messenger of the Gods brings you a sweet message, made of a sweet tobacco that never tires, its different notes make it special and unique, welcome the message and feel like a “God”.

On the smell Ermete has an important biscuit imprint, aromatically very pleasant and also quite marked. I am immediately struck by the fact that this biscuit note is very extravagant and unprecedented, in other words quite distant from the biscuit-based formulations that we are used to smell and vape in most of the recipes currently on the market. The scent of biscuit is flanked by a lovely vanilla nuance in a synergy that appears perfect. So Ermete is actually just a creamy aroma? Judging from the smell test it would seem so, but I don’t want to draw hasty conclusions, at least not before having tried it in vaporization.

Devices: Aspire Mulus 80 W with 0.7 Aspire coil + Innokin Sceptre with 1.2 ohm coil

I prepare myself for the vape test to understand if and how much tobacco there is in this recipe.

    innokin sceptre pod mod

For the vape test I used two pod systems of undisputed value and excellent performance, the Aspire Mulus and the Innokin Sceptre, taking care to equip both devices with coils suitable for a classic MTL vape.

Ermete was the son of Zeus and the Pleiade Maia, he is one of the twelve Olympians and in Greek mythology he had the role of messenger of the Gods. In vaping the aroma Ermete becomes a messenger of the whole class of synthetic tobaccos and, from the first puff, any doubt emerged from the olfactory profile, revealing itself to be a priceless tobacco aroma. The creamy conjugations appear on inhalation with the same characteristics sniffed by the bottle during the olfactory test; biscuit and vanilla are perfectly combined, but I continue to “feel” all the particularity of a biscuit structure which, now I understand, evokes childish scents.

Among the ingredients of the biscuit, I catch the presence of powdered milk and malt extract which together flutter around a light buttery note, guaranteeing high sweetness to the whole biscuit recipe. Do any of you remember plasmon cookies? Only a strong suggestion or strong similarities? I leave the decision to you. The initial inspiration made all of sweetness and roundness is soon flanked by a relevant tobacco note, which is almost in conflict with the biscuit aroma: the first is as sweet and sugary as the second is incisive and dry. The story of a perfect dualism.

The tobacco in this mix is firm and straightforward; not smoked, nor straw yellow, nor sweet, Ermete’s tobacco component is rough and decidedly woody. The full bouquet reaches very high aromatic peaks in the central phases of the vape, letting all the components of this recipe emerge clearly. The biscuit (sweet part) faces off in an epic battle with tobacco (dry part). Legend has it that there was no winner but that from this epic clash a God was born able to gather within himself the qualities of the two earthly challengers. And he was called Ermete.

Ermete is a creation of the highest quality, it is made with care and intelligence, it is very well faceted and can boast of having a truly delicious aromatic persistence after vaping. All the aromas that are proposed on the market with bold and complex recipes should be like this. What is the point of producing a highly structured e-liquid if, in the practical act of tasting, the aromatic restitution turns out to be quite messy? Many current productions suffer from this.

Lovers of sweet tobaccos will find Ermete perfect for their palates, as well as those who are looking for a more dry tobacco e-juice, will live with this aroma a stimulating and intriguing sensory experience.

Here today the myth of Hermes was born, and his deeds are destined to be handed down over time …

Balkan Six Leaves (Tabacchificio 3.0)

Balkan Six Leaves (Tabacchificio 3.0)

Name and Format: Balkan Six Leaves (Tabacchificio 3.0) – Concentrated flavour 20 ml

Batch: 01-01/20

Nico: 3 mg/ml

Used Base: 50 PG / 47 VG / 3 H2O

Expiry date: 01/2022

Devices: ExVape Expromizer V3 Fire RTA single coil 1,10 ohm (Kanthal A1 28 AWG) + Flash e-Vapor 4.5s RTA single coil 0,85 ohm (Kanthal A1 27 AWG) con Cotton Bacon Prime.

Speaking of vape it must be said that the italian tobacco scenario has profoundly changed since the dawn of vape, when the choice and options relating to this type of e-liquid were decidedly more limited and essentially limited to synthetic tobacco e-liquids only, those which here on our blog are classified as “classic tobaccos”. In the early 2010s, natural tobacco extracts were far from making their appearance on our market. How it went afterwards is known, and in less than a decade, Italy became the world’s leading producer of natural tobacco e-liquids as well as the leading consumer country.

Today the panorama for a vaper when he has to choose which tobacco e-liquid to buy and vape is profoundly different from the one I personally experienced when I started in 2012; today you can count on an incredible amount of blends and recipes able to satisfy all tastes and all vapers categories.

Today I am still talking about an organic tobacco aroma and in this case the Balkan Six Leaves manufactured by the Reggio Emilia company Tabacchificio 3.0. Massimiliano Caliendo’s company, despite its young age (it has been operating in the sector only since 2017), has become a regular guest on our pages in a few months, and has on several occasions deserved our praise for its undoubted quality creations. If you missed them, take a look at Eclissi, Halfzware Shag, Kentucky Tennessee and Nova Roma reviews, I am convinced that they will intrigue you a lot.

The concentrated aroma Balkan Six Leave is marketed like all the products of the brand in a 20 ml glass bottle to be diluted, according to the indications of the manufacturer, between 10% and 20%. A final composition as close as possible to VPG 50/50 is also recommended. Tabacchificio 3.0 aromas do not require steeping, although a few days of steeping undoubtedly improve the aromatic result.

Tabacchificio 3.0 introduces its Balkan Six Leaves as follows:

Quello che rende unica questa Balkan Mixture è l’impiego di tabacchi di origine dominicana. L’utilizzo sproporzionato di tali tabacchi renderebbe sbilanciata la miscela, ma se utilizzati nelle giuste proporzioni, donano alla miscela una speziatura seducente, un rimando alla ricchezza di un grande sigaro e una consistenza cremosa ad ogni puff. Un pizzico di Latakia Cipriota completa i sapori e leviga i bordi. I Virginia maturi forniscono dolcezza e struttura. Infine i tabacchi orientali riempiono gli spazi vuoti e rendono Balkan Six Leaves una miscela complessa, saporita e speziata.

What makes this Balkan Mixture unique is the use of Dominican tobaccos. The disproportionate use of these tobaccos would make the blend unbalanced, but if used in the right proportions, they give the blend a seductive spiciness, a reference to the richness of a great cigar and a creamy texture to each puff. A pinch of Cypriot Latakia completes the flavors and smoothes the edges. Ripe Virgins provide sweetness and structure. Finally, oriental tobaccos fill in the empty spaces and make Balkan Six Leaves a complex, tasty and spicy blend.

In the presence of a blend essentially consisting of light tobaccos and consequently not rough and incisive, the smell test of Balkan Six Leaves does not offer great thought as the perfume that comes out of the bottle is really very light and delicate, I perceive only a subtle trail spicy, but overall it is really difficult for me to grasp all the aromatic elements that make up this unprecedented and ambitious blend. I therefore rely on the vape test for a complete and exhaustive analysis.

For the vape test I will again rely on a pair of German atomizers that has become at home in my reviews: I’m talking about the ExVape Expromizer V3 Fire and the 4.5 S version of the Flash e-Vapor.

Slightly spicy, a bewitching spiciness and a pinch of acidity, this is how Balkan Six Leaves presents itself to me at the first puff, immediately tickling the curiosity of my palate in the spasmodic search for each of its most subtle and hidden nuances. As in the case of the Nova Roma aroma, also in the composition of this blend, Massimiliano Caliendo had fun creating an atypical, basically a light Balkan mixture, playing with the combination of Dominican, oriental and virginia tobaccos, and leaving only just hinted at the presence of Latakia, notoriously more consistent within a classic Balkan mixture.

Especially in inspiration, the vape is sophisticated and penetrating; the spicy accents of the Orientals and the harmonious acidity (of the Dominicans?) are the masters and stimulate my taste buds not a little, introducing with intelligence the subsequent sensory perceptions, those that arrive in the heart of the vape, when the Virginia surfaces with its vegetal and slightly straw-colored tone. The blend seems to turn and now, showing a more full-bodied and round aromatic plant, may be almost creamy.

Balkan Six Leaves Tabacchificio 3.0

Quality of raw materials but above all great ability of Tabacchificio 3.0 in harmonizing the tobaccos chosen for this mix in the best possible way, in order to achieve an impeccable aromatic balance. As I see it, the risk of obtaining an amorphous and indefinite blend was high, Balkan Six Leaves on the contrary, and fortunately I add, it is a very original bouquet.

The Cypriot Latakia mentioned in the description has a marginal appearance within this composition; a light and almost imperceptible smoke, accompanied by the same tip of acidity felt in the top notes, appears on the palate in exhalation and gives an almost analogical touch to the whole mix. The feeling of a great Dominican cigar for me is quite far, but here I admit there is all my limited experience with this type of tobaccos.

Do you want to feel a greater presence of Latakia? Then you will have to choose atomizers more likely to emphasize dark tobaccos, the same Expromizer for example used for my test, does this type of work compared to the FEV, but Balkan Six Leaves I repeat, it is a Balkan blend that is not born to give too much space to Latakia tobacco. A very present and incisive Latakia would have removed the complexity of the blend, with the effect of reducing the balance of its spicy nuances.

I have never been a lover of clear tobaccos, much less cigar aromas, but I must admit that Nova Roma before and Balkan Six Leaves now have drastically changed my mind…

Suggested dilution: 15-20%

Steeping time: ready to vape, recommended 7-10 days

Pro: Like the Nova Roma blend, another sophisticated recipe for the finest palates.

Cons: It is not a Balkan blend in the most classic sense of the term and then it’s not a strong blend

Milano (Blendfeel)

Milano (Blendfeel)

Name and Format: Milano (Blendfeel) – Concentrated flavour 10 ml

Batch: 19166600050001

Nico: 3 mg/ml

Used Base: 50 PG / 45 VG / 5 H2O

Expiry date: 09/2021

Devices: ExVape Expromizer V3 Fire RTA single coil 1.10 ohm (Kanthal A1 28 AWG) + Flash e-Vapor 4.5s RTA single coil 0.85 ohm (Kanthal A1 27 AWG) with Cotton Bacon Prime.

Speaking of Milan, a famous slogan from the 1980s read: “It is reborn every morning, it beats like a heart; Milan is positive, optimistic, efficient; Milan is to live, dream and enjoy …, Milan to drink”. Milan, the nerve center of Italy that accepts the challenges imposed by the times and that, despite a thousand difficulties, wins them. Even in vaping, Milan is the symbol of an Italy that for a decade has wanted to look forward to the future, understanding and accepting the potential of a new, modern and above all much less harmful sector than analogue smoking.

The Milan to drink of the 80s is now also the Milan to vape.

Blendfeel, a Lombard e-liquid manufacturing company, as well as a flagship among manufacturers in the Po Valley and throughout Italy, wanted to dedicate a tobacco flavored concentrated aroma with the same name of the city of Milan. Aroma Milano belongs to the “Aroma di Tabacco Selection” line (Irish Black, Pays, Double Spicy, US Rose) and is sold in a 10 ml amber glass bottle to be mixed at 10% in a recommended base 40 PG/50 VG/10 H2O or in a 50/50 base.

Milano Blendfeel

Blendfeel officially describes its Milano aroma as follows:

Torniamo in patria, nella Milano che corre ma che riesce a fermarsi per gustarsi la vita. Perche´non assaporare il gusto di un amaro agrumato che inebria una miscela di tabacco americano? Ecco Milano un altro connubio aromatico particolare e sfizioso impossibile da non assaporare.

Let’s go back to our homeland, to the Milan that runs but manages to stop and enjoy life. Why not savor the taste of a citrusy bitter that elates a blend of American tobacco? Here is Milano, another particular and delicious aromatic combination impossible not to taste.

Milano tobacco aroma presents itself on the smell with an intense but at the same time delicious scented note of citrus fruits among which the hints of orange undoubtedly stand out. Just the orange, sweet and lively, stands as the absolute protagonist of the test, dominating the olfactory scene far and wide and consequently relegating the tobacco component of this creation to a very marginal role. Throughout the course of the nasal test, the tobacco mixture mentioned in the description struggles to emerge except through a faint vegetal background nuance. I immediately go to the vape test to better understand the characteristics of this Blendfeel aroma.

For the vape test I will again rely on a pair of German atomizers with different characteristics, but precisely for this reason able to enhance the Milano aroma characteristics. I will be using ExVape Expromizer V3 Fire and version 4.5 S of the Flash e-Vapor.

The good olfactory perceptions are amplified in the vape test, indeed to be honest they are improved as in vape they open, better enhancing some facets remained hidden during the nasal test. From the first puff, Milano offers a tasty and pleasant and above all sparkling vape experience! Yes, you got it sparkling, precisely because on the palate you perceive a light sparkling note that, joining with bitter-sweet nuances, surprises and fascinates me, making me immediately think of the pleasant experience of sipping a prosecco.

There is no doubt that in creating this aroma, Blendfeel has thought of paying homage to the economic capital of Italy, with one of its most recognized and irrefutable distinctive elements: the aperitif. And Milano by Blendfeel from the first sip, oops excuse me, from the first puff, remember no ifs and buts, a sparkling spritz garnished with a nice slice of orange.

Spritz agrumi

And what about tobacco? Although this e-liquid is in my opinion slightly (and I add deliberately) unbalanced towards the flavoring component, it is not difficult during the vape to identify the delicate tobacco background finishes. They emerge already during the inhalation, but become more vivid and present in the heart and at the end of the puff, and are placed side by side with skill and elegance with the bitter, sweet and sparkling notes of the cocktail. They are mainly vegetable and soft tobacco hints, typical of light tobacco leaves and, even with the help of the manufacturer’s own description, I deduce it may be a blend of Virginia and Burley tobaccos.

virginia american blend

Virginia and Burley compose a sort of American blend (even without the presence of the Oriental) which in the economy of this aroma does not play a mere scenographic role but on the contrary contributes to slightly thicken the bouquet giving it greater body and aromatic consistency. The most experienced will notice it for sure but even if it were not so, never mind, because what always counts, is the final result that in the case of Milano is certainly commendable.

The aroma just for how it was built, for its aromatic range so sunny and wide, lends itself well to being vaped not only in MTL but also in flavor chasing, and I assure you that it does not disappoint at all, because with greater airiness it manages to give greater breath and exaltation to its already prominent flavoring components.

Milan to drink, Milano to vape, Milano that puts a good mood.

Suggested dilution: 10%

Steeping time: ready to vape, recommended 2-3 days

Pro: A lively, lively and sweet flavored tobacco that puts you in a good mood.

Cons: Unbalanced towards the flavoring part, consequently not very suitable for pure tobacco purists.

And the day came…

Oh yes, finally the best known and most sought tobacco for vaping, the very famous and increasingly unobtainable Syrian Latakia, is extracted for the first time with the distillation technique, a technique increasingly used by Italian organic tobaccos manufacturers because it is able to guarantee a very long life to the coils of our atomizers. I have already said it in a few reviews ago that tobacco distillates (hydrolates) have opened the doors of the organic tobaccos world to all users (and they are the vast majority) who vape with non-rebuildable systems.

So which company could be the first to produce a Syrian distilled Latakia if not Angolo della Guancia, the first ever to envelop this new extraction system? The Emilian company inaugurated its successful line of distillates e-liquids, the H2O line just last January, and after having created MiXture, Aromatized Cardamomo, Aromatized Caramello and Quintaessenza, today it offers us Syrian, the first pure Syrian Latakia distillate.

As always, I remember that this product is marketed in the 20 ml shot series format of concentrated flavor in propylene glycol inside a 60 ml bottle. To obtain your e-liquid ready to vape, it will be necessary to add a 30 ml base of vegetable glycerol plus a further 10 ml base of propylene glycol (the presence of nicotine is at the discretion of the consumer). Singular, but very functional to the type of product, the transparent label of the bottle to clearly highlight and show the almost total transparency of this aroma. It must be said that Syrian aroma compared to the previous H2Os is slightly less transparent, which is more than understandable if we consider the starting raw material.

Here is what the manufacturing company says about Syrian:

The leaves of the Syrian LATAKIA distilled 5 times at a controlled temperature, to obtain an aromatic charge rich in nuances while maintaining the characteristics that only a LATAKIA can give!

I begin the smell test having learned from the official description of the product that, even Syrian as Quintaessenza, has undergone a quintuple distillation process to significantly increase its aromatic charge. So if good morning starts in the morning… I have a lot of hope in this Syrian, aware of the aromatic qualities and the goodness of its predecessor.

On the smell Syrian reveals a decidedly marked tobacco presence and Latakia clearly shows one of its most recognizable traits, the smoking scent. The scent that comes out of the bottle is very intense, on par if not slightly higher than the tobacco impact perceived on the occasion of Quintaessenza. I confirm what I said a few months ago on the occasion of the review of Quintaessenza: it is undeniable how, thanks to the multiple passages under steam currents, the aromatic imprint of these distillates is very close to that of a classic tobacco extract.

For today’s vape test I decided to rely on Limit atomizer by Kizoku (with an Aspire coil) and Innokin Ares 2 atomizer. I will be unpopular but no one will ever convince me of the fact that to vape well you need to have rigorously only high end and also quite expensive devices.

The smell sensations are also fully confirmed on vape and from the first puff I find myself in the presence of an e-liquid that has little to envy to a classic tobacco extract. Angolo della Guancia’s quintuple distillation procedure represents a distinct upgrade from the simple distillation used for the first three H2O line aromas. Today, with this Syrian aroma, so overbearing and intriguing, I loudly reiterate all the goodness of this procedure.

From the inspiration Syrian is masterfully dry, woody and smoky and gives a strong analogue sensation to the palate of the vaper, perhaps more like a pipe than a traditional cigarette, but still incredibly realistic. The tobacco distillates, albeit with some aromatic limitations, compared to classic organic products have the great advantage of being basically drier, and this characteristic on a tobacco like Latakia can only emphasize its peculiarities.

In the heart of the vape the scratchy tones already perceived on inspiration are amplified, the aroma always appears very robust but the presence of a medium incensing notes ennobles the bouquet, partially mitigating the hardness of the vape.

The incense nuances are typical of latakia tobacco, it is certainly not discovered today, but a true Syrian is rich in it much more than a Cypriot Latakia and this Syrian manages to show its incense veils quite well. With Syrian aroma the smoky scents are always on the forefront, underlining a rough and dark-toned distillate, but a frame of oriental spices undoubtedly enriches the bouquet, and overall the aromatic score appears quite well multifaceted.

Syrian, the desert rose of tobacco distillates.

Suggested dilution: 33%

Steeping time: ready to vape

Pro: Simply the best tobacco distillate ever tried

Cons: Are there still margins for perfection among distillate tobaccos? Maybe yes … we’ll find out soon

Nova Roma (Tabacchificio 3.0)

Nova Roma (Tabacchificio 3.0)

Name and Format: Nova Roma (Tabacchificio 3.0) – Concentrated flavour 20 ml – received by the manufacturer

Batch: 05-03/20

Nico: 3 mg/ml

Used Base: 50 PG / 47 VG / 3 H2O

Expiry date: 03/2022

Devices: ExVape Expromizer V3 Fire RTA single coil 1,10 ohm (Kanthal A1 28 AWG) + Flash e-Vapor 4.5s RTA single coil 0,85 ohm (Kanthal A1 27 AWG) con Cotton Bacon Prime.

Today I have on my hands another aroma manufactured by the italian company Tabacchificio 3.0. I have already had the opportunity to talk about and praise for its more than deserving tobacco extracts. If you missed the reviews of Eclissi, Halfzware Shag and Kentucky Tennessee, I highly recommend you take a look because I assure you that these are very interesting products. Although the Tabacchificio 3.0 company has been operating in the sector only since 2017, I can assure you that in a short time it has earned a place in the Olympus of organic tobacco producers, alongside numerous other and equally deserving Italian companies.

Today, therefore, I will tell you about Nova Roma marketed like all the products of the brand in the concentrated flavour format in a 20 ml glass bottle to be diluted, according to what is indicated by the manufacturer itself, between 10% and 20%. A final composition as close as possible to VPG 50/50 is also recommended. Tabacchificio 3.0 aromas do not need to steep, although a few days of steeping undoubtedly improve the aromatic result.

The manufacturer gives us this description of Nova Roma:

Nova Roma è una miscela meravigliosamente complessa. Le sottili note agrumate dei Virginia biondi supportano armoniosamente i sapori più robusti dei Virginia scuri. Il Burley dona corpo alla miscela, mentre una buona dose di orientali Yenidje, conferiscono un sapore e un odore brillante, etereo, simile all’incenso, ma allo stesso tempo dolce. Infine,un sussurro di Maryland chiude il tutto, rendendo la miscela rotonda e cremosa.

Nova Roma is a wonderfully complex blend. The subtle citrus notes of blonde Virginia harmoniously support the more robust flavors of dark Virginia. Burley gives body to the blend, while a good dose of oriental Yenidje give it a bright, ethereal flavor and smell, similar to incense, but sweet at the same time. Finally, a whisper of Maryland closes it all off, making the blend round and creamy.

Intrigued by the captivating and ambitious description, I begin the smell test and I discover an aroma capable of emanating somewhat stimulating and complex aromas. A lively citrus note immediately stands out from the bottle that opens the way to soft vegetable scents, in turn crossed by subtle spicy insertions. My nose perceives the characters of a lively but at the same time delicate and light aroma and, although I am not a lover of so-called light tobaccos, I do not hide the fact that I am particularly attracted by the fragrance of this oriental blend. Will it also be the same on the vape test?

For the vape test I will again rely on a pair of German atomizers with different characteristics, but precisely for this reason able to enhance the different peculiarities and all the facets of Nova Roma. I will be using ExVape Expromizer V3 Fire and version 4.5 S of the Flash e-Vapor.

All the complexity of the mixture announced by the manufacturer in the official description of the product, emerges on vape, even if I must admit that it is not at all easy to quickly understand the different nuances that follow each other with each puff. Nova Roma is an Oriental blend and in this sense it already shows all its peculiarity. Massimiliano Caliendo with this recipe chooses to take new roads, drastically moving away from the more classic canons of tobacco blends, those in which the protagonists are usually dark tobaccos.

Nova Roma during inspiration celebrates the triumph of oriental tobaccos by showing off a mix of flavors that twirls between citrus notes and refined spicy insertions. After a first phase in which the puff has a rather delicate and elegant imprinting, Nova Roma acquires body and greater balance thanks to the presence of Burley and Virginia, which duet together with Yenidje in an unprecedented game of intertwining vegetal nuances within an evident frame of spices.

The differences in aromatic restitution between the two atomizers chosen for the test are quite evident, but in my opinion there is no more suitable atom for enjoying Nova Roma at its best. After all, this has been my stainless vape theory for years: when an e-liquid is good it will express itself well on any kind of system.

In this circumstance with the FEV 4.5 S the roundness and the sweeter notes of the aroma are undoubtedly enhanced, while with the much mistreated Expromizer V3 Fire I was able to appreciate a slightly drier flavor, but also more penetrating, with citrus and more spice in the foreground.

What is irrefutable for me is the fact that this creation by Tabacchificio 3.0 really deserves applause, not only for the audacity of experimenting with an alternative and unconventional bouquet, but above all for the highly complex result capable of bringing out many aromatic accents along the entire length of the puff. Also in the tail notes, for example, when a thin velvety trail lovingly closes the vape while on the palate the stamp of oriental tobaccos persists, because they are the protagonists of this elegant recipe.

Suggested dilution: 15-20%

Steeping time: ready to vape, recommended 5-7 days

Pro: Charming oriental blend for finest palates

Cons: Not easy and very selective blend, suitable only for finest palates

Cacao (Blendfeel)

Cacao (Blendfeel)

Name and Format: Cacao (Blendfeel) – Concentrated flavour 10 ml – received by the manufacturer

Batch: 1945500010003

Nico: 3 mg/ml

Used Base: 50 PG / 45 VG / 5 H2O

Expiry date: 10/28/2021

Devices: ExVape Expromizer V3 Fire RTA single coil 1.10 ohm (Kanthal A1 28 AWG) + Flash e-Vapor 4.5s RTA single coil 0.85 ohm (Kanthal A1 27 AWG) with Cotton Bacon Prime.

For the current year 2020 the The Flavourist team, in a completely exceptional way, has decided to deal at least for what concerns the reviews of e-liquids and aromas, only tobacco products, also establishing a special award (#VITA Prize – Vape Italian Tobacco Award) reserved for this category so much appreciated and widespread in Italy.

So why today are we going to talk to you about the Cacao aroma manufactured by Blendfeel? Because after having kindly received it from the manufacturer and appropriately tasted it, we realized how much this aroma is so close and comparable (as well as combinable) to a real tobacco aroma. The Blendfeel cocoa extract is the closest in our opinion to a real tobacco e-juice even though it is absolutely not a tobacco.

The Cacao aroma belongs to a line called “Coloniali” and is sold in the form of a 10 ml concentrated aroma to be mixed at 10% in a recommended base 40 PG/ 50 VG/ 10 H2O or in a 50/50 base.

The “Colonial” aromas, according to what the manufacturer tells us, are natural extracts from the best raw materials of products from far countries but which have long been present in our everyday culture, products that draw from past history and the colonial era.

Blendfeel officially describes its Cacao aroma as follows:

Lo abbiamo individuato per primo, il cacao proveniente dal Madagascar, con le sue piantagioni assolate nelle quali con pazienza e tanto lavoro i semi migliori di un frutto particolarissimo vengono fatti fermentare per poi essiccare solo al sole del giorno, riparati dalla umidità della notte e alla fine diffusi in Europa nella val di Rodano per essere infine raffinati dai migliori produttori olandesi.

We first identified cocoa from Madagascar, with its sunny plantations in which with patience and a lot of work the best seeds of a very particular fruit are fermented and then dried only in the sun of the day, sheltered from the humidity of the night and at the end spread in Europe in the Rodano Valley to be finally refined by the best Dutch producers.

On the smell Cacao immediately lays bare and unhesitatingly shows its incredible fidelity to the delicate but at the same time dry and bitter hints of a dried cocoa bean. Honestly, there is little to dwell and argue on the smell analysis of this aroma, because it is a cocoa bean extract and as such smells of cocoa. It is very inviting therefore we also place high hopes on the vape test.

For the vape test we decided to use two German atomizers, the Expromizer V3 Fire di ExVape and the 4.5 S version by Flash e-Vapor.

The olfactory sensations are not betrayed by the vape test that it returns to us, it is good to make it clear right away, a very good and above all a unique e-liquid, because in our memory, we believe it is the first time ever that we are in front of a cocoa extract. In many years of vaping and tests carried out, there will have passed under the nose and on the palate an infinite number of creamy and tobacco products with more or less chocolaty bases, but never pure cocoa.

There is a huge difference between cocoa and chocolate: chocolate, unless you are referring to extra-dark chocolate with cocoa mass percentages greater than 75%, is soft and sweet, at least it is what it is synthesized and/or extracted for the vaping industry, cocoa is definitely not. Have you ever tried to taste pure cocoa bean flakes? If you have, then you have understood what we are talking about.

Blendfeel Cacao manages not to lose the aromatic qualities of pure cocoa, and throughout the arc of the vape it appears rather dry and penetrating on the palate, showing in this sense in our opinion its “tobacco” soul.

It fascinates a lot both if tasted in pure MTL at low wattages (13-15 watts with the Expromizer), and at more generous powers, between 18 and 22 watts with the Fev 4.5 S. In the first case you can better appreciate everything its aromaticity, in the second it gives it more sprint making it more toasted and slightly darker.

It is very pleasant and satisfying to be able to grasp puff after puff the delicate and intense flavor that combines with that bitterish tip typical of a real cocoa bean.

Can we therefore consider the Cacao aroma by Blendfeel 100% faithful from the aromatic point of view to the origin raw material? Unfortunately not because in our opinion this extract cannot completely shake off the naturally sweet aftertaste of the components of its base; propylene glycol and even more vegetable glycerol ultimately leave a not negligible imprint within the e-liquid ready to vape.

Cacao by Blendfeel is a new product that deserves to be discovered, tested both in purity and possibly combined with a tobacco blend; It is easy to imagine it for example together with a Kentucky, but for our part we can only hope that Blendfeel itself will propose it as soon as possible combined with a single tobacco or even a blend of tobaccos.

Suggested dilution: 10%

Steeping time: ready to vape, recommended 4-5 days

Pro: For lovers of organic tobaccos, an excellent variant on the theme to be used also in blends with organic tobaccos

Cons: It lacks that extra bit of bitterness that would have made it 100% faithful to the origin raw material
