Within the vast world of e-liquids for vaping, a role of great importance is played by classic or synthetic tobacco e-liquids, that although they do not come from organic raw materials (tobacco leaves), manage to restore an aromatic sensation able to trace more or less well the analogue experience of the traditional cigarette.

Among the different flavors on the market, the Virginia tobacco taste is certainly the best-selling one, first of all because almost all cigarettes on the market are made mainly with this tobacco, and secondly because it is a sweet taste, undemanding and ideal to accompany the vaper worthily throughout a whole day.

Therefore today I am dealing with the review of the Virginia made by the italian company T-Svapo, one of the longest-lived on the Italian vaping manufacturing scene.

The range of T-Svapo products is really very wide, both for the flavors offered and for the formats, ranging from the classic concentrated aroma in 10 ml bottles, to Mix & Vape e-liquids, to shot aromas to end with the classic ready to vape e-liquids. As already seen in the case of the reviews of Jazz cremoso n.8 and Syria n.5, the packaging of the product appears particularly pleasant and original, as well as complete and perfect from an informative point of view, but also very suggestive with a smoked e-liquid bottle.

Directly from the official website of T-Svapo, I report below the description of Virginia n.7:

Tutti i profumi della caratteristica flora Americana.

All the scents of the characteristic American flora.

SMELL TEST

Virginia by T-Svapo shows a pleasant and never too marked aromatic impact on the smell, even if do not escape the nose the typical acidulous insertions that distinguish most of the synthetic Virginia on the market. In nature, Virginia tobacco is characterized by its straw-yellow imprint and a somewhat sweetish vegetable note in the background, in the same way this interpretation by T-Svapo succeeds rather in this test in order to emulate the most typical features of the most widespread tobacco leaf on the planet.

I prepare myself for the vape test in the hope of being able to find a lovable tobacco product also in vaporization, a perfect tobacco for long vaping sessions.

For the vape test I used two pod systems of undisputed value and excellent performance, the Aspire Mulus and the Vaporesso Target PM80 SE, taking care to equip both devices with coils suitable for a classic MTL vape.

VAPE TEST

On vape Virginia substantially confirms the smell perceptions, revealing itself on the palate with good aromatic intensity and an “objectively” pleasant taste able to put everyone in agreement. I deliberately quoted the adverb objectively, well aware of the fact that in vaping as in food or in many other sectors, personal taste is a more subjective matter than ever, but in this circumstance I wanted to convey the idea that this e-liquid it has an aromatic structure so round and enveloping that it is unlikely that it will fail to breach the palate of vapers.

The initial phase of the puff is characterized by a sweet and slightly perfumed background that emulates the vegetal structure of virginia tobacco with a certain elegance. The vape is light and delicate, there are no overbearing aromatic cues and therefore it is easy to appreciate it precisely for its simplicity. A vape that never tires.

The sweet and vegetal base is flanked in the heart of the puff by subtle acidic insertions (the same smelled in the smell test) which contribute to enrich its structural system, giving a sort of straw-yellow sensation to this tobacco creation.

perfetta ambientazione per il packaging di Virginia by T-Svapo (foto by photokappa)

My taste buds appreciate this sensation, which is also typical for this kind of synthetic tobacco, but I am pleased to note that in the case of T-Svapo’s Virginia, it has not been used improperly and excessively, on the contrary here the sour-straw-yellow touch it is light and elegant.

The puff is light, sweet and round until exhalation, when a subtle scented trail with a distant chocolatey memory peeps out on the palate, worthily signing a composition with admirable soft tones, with lovingly feminine features. It is precisely these peculiarities that, together with its extreme cleanliness, make T-Svapo’s Virginia a total all day e-juice, a moderate and ideal friend for the whole day.

Pro: Sweet and very clean classic tobacco. An excellent all day entry level e-juice

Cons: It is not a new recipe

Night (Iron Vaper)

Night (Iron Vaper)

Name and Format: Night – Silence line (Iron Vaper) – Concentrated flavour 5 ml – received by the manufacturer

Batch: 2001015

Nico: 2 mg/ml

Used Base: 50 PG / 50 VG

Expiry date: 01/2023

Devices: Innokin Zenith Pro Z-coil 1,6 ohm + Aspire Nautilus 2S BVC coil 0,7 ohm

Today I am going to talk about a synthetic tobacco e-juice from the Silence line by the Italian company Iron Vaper. Although much of the fame of the Campania brand is due to its flavor and cloud chasing creations, only a few weeks ago with the review of the Sandman e-liquid, I was also pleasantly impressed by the ability to create a satisfactory synthetic tobacco for MTL vape.

Silence is a line of nine 5 ml minishot flavors proposed in 15 ml bottles. To obtain the e-liquid ready for vaping it will be necessary to add a 10 ml base (with or without nicotine) preferably in composition VPG 70/30 to obtain the recommended final composition of 50/50.

The range of flavors offered by the Silence minishots is very wide, there is really something for all tastes, from pure tobacco blends to the increasingly popular flavored combinations.

After Sandman today it’s Night‘s turn, as described by the manufacturer on its website:

Night è un gradevole blend di tabacchi accompagnati da note di butterscotch, un aroma che ricorda molto le dolci caramelle mou. Il giusto compromesso per chi ama svapare tabacchi senza rinunciare al gusto.

Night is a pleasant blend of tobaccos accompanied by notes of butterscotch, an aroma that is very reminiscent of sweet toffee candies. The right compromise for those who love to vape tobaccos without sacrificing taste.

SMELL TEST

On the smell Night shows a convincing tobacco base characterized by dry and direct tones, and wrapped in a clear alcoholic frame that makes the flavoring component of this tobacco not easy to identify. Although I linger in my nasal test, repeatedly pressing on the bottle in an attempt to be able to grasp even the smallest aromatic nuances, the intemperance of the tobacco base and the alcoholic veil do not allow me to identify any element attributable to the butterscotch mentioned in the description. The effect, although incomplete, is undoubtedly good and somewhat involving; I therefore look forward to the vape test…

For the vape test I decided to use two of the best MTL vape headcoil atomizers currently on the market, the Zenith Pro by Innokin and the Nautilus 2s by Aspire.

VAPE TEST

In vaping Night confirms the impressions received from the smell test and presents on the one hand a tasty and penetrating tobacco base, and on the other a flavoring component that, due to the swagger of tobacco, finds it hard to emerge and be noticed as it should and would like. Since the inspiration, the tobacco background delineated the scenography of this e-liquid, showing itself with its strong and slightly straw shades. A thin halo of licorice seems to belong to Night’s tobacco plant and, in my opinion, contributes to making the tenor of Night’s tobacco part even more marked.

The puff is stimulating and energetic and remains thick even in the central phases, keeping substantially unchanged the taste perceptions of the beginning. Fortunately, the alcoholic veil perceived in the smell test, now is completely disappeared and Night shows its simple aromatic formula but with the important advantage of never tiring.

At the tail of the vape, during the exhalation phase, timid caramelized glazes overlook the palate and follow the large tobacco coat for a slightly more rounded and harmonious ending vape.

If for a moment I make a comparison with Sandman, the previous tobacco e-juice from the Silence line, I notice an evident correspondence in the part of the aromatic structure that concerns tobacco. The big difference between Night and Sandman lies instead in the contribution of flavoring ingredients, and in their level of balance with tobacco. In Sandman, the lemon cream has an important role in the recipe economy, in Night instead, the hints of toffee (perhaps also by choice of the manufacturer) remain in the rear and rather hidden.

Night is an e-juice that has as its protagonist a dry and fiery blond tobacco and that leaves little space to the butterscotch aroma, if not in exhalation and in the lovable aftertaste persistence. A linear all day tobacco e-liquid, without frills and with a very light caramelized tip at the bottom of the vape.

Suggested dilution: 33%

Steeping time: ready to vape

Pro: A linear and never tiring tobacco e-juice

Cons: The tobacco base covers the aromatic characteristics of the butterscotch

I know that for a good portion of our readers, when we talk about classic tobacco e-juices, the interest in reading a review that concerns this type of e-liquid is lost, but it is undeniable that this the type of e-liquid is still the most requested and sold on the Italian e-cig market. And since The Flavourist does not want to overlook any category of vaper, today I decided to tell you again about a synthetic tobacco manufactured by T-Svapo, one of its latest tobacco creations: Syria n.5.

The range of T-Svapo products is really very wide, both for the flavors offered and for the formats, ranging from the classic concentrated aroma in 10 ml bottles, to the Mix & Vape e-liquids, to the shot aromas to end with the classic ready to vape e-juices. As already seen in the case of the Jazz Cremoso n.8 review, the product packaging appears particularly pleasant and original, as well as complete and perfect from an information point of view, but also very suggestive is the e-liquid smoked bottle.

Directly from the official website of T-Svapo, I report below the description of Syria n.5:

Riproduce una miscela di tabacchi Syriani andando a creare un’espressione unica nel suo genere.

It reproduces a mixture of Syrian tobaccos, creating a unique expression of its kind.

SMELL TEST

The first smell approach reveals an e-liquid with exuberant characteristics and a strong aromatic impact. It is evident from the name of the product, but I think it’s right to clarify it also for the less experienced vapers, that Syria evokes and brings to mind the well-known Latakia tobacco which Syrian origins, what for its strength and intemperance is rightly considered the world king of tobaccos. Although it is impossible to faithfully replicate the scents of real Latakia tobacco inside a synthetic tobacco, I am pleasantly surprised by Syria because it smells very well to simulate the idea of a real Latakia, presenting itself aromatic explosive with a strong accent spicy and sometimes even rather pungent.

We are in the kingdom of strong tobacco lovers, the smell proof in this sense dispels any doubt about it. What will happen in the vape test?

For the vape test I decided to reuse, as in the case of Jazz Cremoso, the Aspire Nautilus 2s headcoil atomizer, which will show me the most hidden facets present in the structure of this e-liquid.

VAPE TEST

Syria vape test immediately puts me in front of an unexpected novelty: if on the one hand the smell sensations of a strong tobacco find confirmation from the first puff, on the other hand on vape I can perceive a structural roundness absolutely not perceptible from the olfactory test. During the inhalation phase, Syria shows a very dry, woody and direct tobacco base, and therefore lays the foundations for being identified as an extraordinary intense e-liquid.

The initial phase characterized by such a bold and direct tobacco background flows into the heart of the vape, characterized instead by a greater aromatic richness, with persuasive spicy notes that intertwine with deep hints of incense. While the puff remains typically strong, it cannot be defined “dark”, but acquires great roundness of taste and above all it is very multifaceted and articulated.

The almost total absence of the smoky component makes the mix less bulky, which will guarantee the appreciation of a rather large vapers audience. Syria is intriguing and cunning and from its ropes it manages well to transmit those essences of pine, myrtle and cedar typical of the fire cured Latakia tobacco leaves.

The work and the effort made by the T-Svapo flavourists is commendable and can be seen even better in the convincing final nuances of the vape that forcefully echo all the aromatic elements perceived previously, to end in a winking and absolutely aromatic post vape persistence.

During exhalation Syria returns with all its luminous woodiness, seasoned with very light vegetal notes and a vibrant mix of oriental spices, while an intense halo of incense runs through them all. A penetrating all-round taste that never tires and fully satisfies.

As in a famous phrase from a film by one of my favorite directors Robert Redford, I can only conclude saying: “I am haunted by Syria…”

Pro: The best synthetic reinterpretation of a Latakia tobacco.

We unveiled it just a few days ago, for 2020 such a special and incredible year, the team of The Flavourist decided to propose a Special Edition of the annual Italian Vape E-liquid Award, dedicating it to the tobacco e-liquids. The name chosen for this special edition is somewhat evocative, if we want a good omen so that the health emergency that involved the entire planet can cease soon: #VITA Prize, or Vape Italian Tobacco Award (VITA in italian means LIFE).

For today’s review I decided to talk about a new tobacco manufactured by the historic Lazio company T-Svapo, a name that certainly needs no introduction in Italy especially for those who, like myself, have a nearly ten-year vaping experience.

The range of T-Svapo products is very wide, both for the flavors offered and for the formats, ranging from the classic concentrated aroma in 10 ml bottles, to the Mix&Vape e-liquids, to the shot series aromas to end with the classic e-liquids ready to vape. Today I will concentrate on the test of an e-liquid ready to vape in the 10 ml TPD format, Jazz Cremoso n. 8. The packaging of the product is particularly pleasant and original, as well as complete and perfect are the information from any point of view, with a drawing of watercolor spots on dark pink shades present both on the label of the smoked bottle, and on the cardboard box that houses the bottle itself.

Directly from T-Svapo official website, I report below the description of Jazz Cremoso n.8:

Un morbido tabacco avvolto da cioccolato, nocciola e arachidi

A soft tobacco wrapped in chocolate, hazelnut and peanuts

PROVA OLFATTIVA

The smell test begins with a pleasant scented mix of peanuts and hazelnuts that emerges with good intensity from a shy tobacco background. The tobacco base seems to emerge in a discreet way and appears far from intrusive. It is the creamy and dried fruit structure that, in terms of intensity, wins the nasal test, even if to be honest, there is never the feeling of imbalance between the tobacco base and the other ingredients of the mix. Overall it seems to me that I am in front of a medium intensity liquid but at the same time quite harmonious.

For the vape test I decided to use the atomizer with headcoil that better than anyone else can reveal the characteristics of a synthetic tobacco with a rather complex aromatic structure: I am obviously referring to the best-selling and highly reliable Aspire Nautilus 2s.

PROVA DI SVAPO

On inspiration, the tobacco base is easily perceptible and stands out for its linearity and extreme aromatic cleanliness. It is a soft base with a delicate floral-like note, ideal for welcoming the support of the flavoring components of the recipe, which on the contrary are more enveloping and full. This fusion makes this e-juice a true flavored and creamy tobacco and it can be noticed without difficulty from the first puffs.

The tobacco bed is wrapped in the heart of the puff by a tasty mix of hazelnuts and, secondly, peanuts. The hazelnut component provides a touch of dryness to the Jazz Cremoso structure, while the peanuts contribute to the amalgam of the bouquet, providing a more sweet, round and particular tone to the blend.

The puff is full-bodied and makes harmony and balance its winning weapon, with a composed  and elegant impact on the palate.

A soft milk chocolate appears almost on tiptoe at the end of the puff and leaves its traces during the exhalation, supporting the return of tobacco with the right time. Of all the quartet elements of Jazz Cremoso, the chocolate in my opinion is the most shy element, it marks the times and rhythm of the band, it’s its touch that gives the creamy imprint to the whole mix, but honestly I would have slightly more present and enterprising favorite.

I am sure that the choice of the manufacturer in this sense is wanted, just to avoid running into the easy mistake of making the blend too sweet and kneaded. The choice of T-Svapo certainly goes in this direction: avoid the easy excitement for a too chocolatey e-juice to outline on the contrary a more stable and never tiring recipe.

In this sense T-Svapo offers an essay of all its many years of experience. Jazz Cremoso is a balanced and tasty tobacco e-juice and above all it is able to satisfy a wide range of palates. It is pleasant for both lovers of pure tobaccos, as the tobacco footprint is clear and easily perceptible, and for the vaper more prone to recipes in which tobacco is only one of the elements that accompanies other flavoring insertions. It may seem strange but it is so.

It satisfies, does not tire and releases a pleasant post-vaping sensation. Jazz Cremoso: those like it call them all-day e-juices, but it is a little more than the others…

Pro: A deeply harmonious synthetic flavored tobacco suitable for an all day vape

Cons: The chocolate remains (intentionally?) in the background

Sandman (Iron Vaper)

Sandman (Iron Vaper)

Name and Format: Sandman – Silence line (Iron Vaper) – Concentrated flavour 5 ml – received by the manufacturer

Batch: 2001015

Nico: 2 mg/ml

Used Base: 50 PG / 50 VG

Expiry date: 01/2023

Devices: Innokin Zlide tube 3000 mAh + Innokin Zlide tank Z coil 1,2 ohm

Recently the italian manufacturer Iron Vaper, well known within the Italian vaper community for its tasty creations expecially for flavor and cloud chasing, created a line of classic tobaccos, designed for lovers of MTL vape, a type of vape which especially in Italy gathers a large number of fans.

Silence, this is the name of the Iron Vaper tobacco line, is a line of nine 5 ml minishot flavors proposed in 15 ml bottles. To obtain the e-liquid ready for vaping it will be necessary to add a 10 ml base (with or without nicotine) preferably in composition VPG 70/30 to obtain the recommended final composition of 50/50.

The range of flavors offered by the Silence minishots is very wide, there really is something for all tastes, from pure tobacco blends to the increasingly popular flavored combinations.

I begin the exploratory journey within the Silence line, starting from the Sandman aroma that the manufacturer describes in this way on its site:

Sandman è un gradevole blend di tabacchi accompagnati da note di limone, il giusto compromesso per chi ama svapare tabacchi senza rinunciare al gusto.

Sandman is a pleasant blend of tobaccos accompanied by lemon notes, the right compromise for those who love to vape tobaccos without sacrificing taste.

SMELL TEST

On the smell, Sandman has a linear, clean and rather dry tobacco base, enriched by a sinuous citrus frame, inside which stands out the unmistakable imprint of lemon. A light alcoholic veil seems to accompany everything, making the smell test somewhat penetrating and impertinent.

The lemon, the flavoring element of the recipe, is in the forefront of the tobacco component, which on the contrary seems to want to act as a shoulder to the fruity element. Tobacco appears as a sort of behind the scenes of the Sandman aroma. Will it be the same on the vape test, or will it be able to emerge with greater swagger?

For the vape test I decided to use the Zlide kit by Innokin which can boast the presence of the Zlide atomizer, undoubtedly one of the best MTL head coil atomizers currently on the market.

VAPE TEST

On vape Sandman is immediately balanced and absolutely tasty from the first puff. The dances in inspiration opens with a medium-dry tobacco background with very slight and delicate hints of licorice.

The puff is stimulating at the right point and very pleasant, especially when in the central phases, I perceive the arrival of the flavoring ingredient of the recipe, the lemon which, strange to say, gives the blend not only an energizing touch, but also a surprising roundness and fullness.

The tobacco base intersects with a soft lemon cream for a particularly sinuous and enveloping effect. The lemon gives brio to the bouquet but its cream makes it appear on the palate anything but sour and pungent.

Sandman is a tobacco e-juice with a simple structure but with an unsuspected wealth of taste. The tobacco and flavoring components balance very well in the economy of an always direct and never tiring vape.

Within the tobacco-lemon couple, it’s the lemon, or if you prefer the lemon cream, to play the leading role, especially in the most full-bodied heart notes when the citrus nuances manage to assert themselves with unquestionable effectiveness. In reality the boundary between the value and role of tobacco and lemon is not so clear; the tobacco is the co-protagonist of this recipe and leaves its indelible trace as well as during inspiration even in exhalation, with a discreet and amiable post-vaping aromatic persistence.

For an all day vape, Sandman is perfect as it is, for those who are looking for a more sophisticated and refined blend, the tobacco stamp would have deserved greater prominence, perhaps simply with a darker and stronger tobacco base instead of the blond tobacco used in this circumstance.

Although not in the presence of an extracted tobacco, I feel I can conclude by saying that from a sensory point of view, the tobacco experience with Sandman is more than ever valid, convincing and satisfying. Iron Vaper proves to be able to do it also with tobacco recipes, more inclined to satisfy lovers of MTL vape. Well done!

Suggested dilution: 33%

Steeping time: ready to vape

Pro: A clean and tasty classic tobacconist that never tires

Cons: Maybe you could have dared more with a stronger tobacco base

Liègeois – MiNiMal (Fuu)

Liègeois – MiNiMal (Fuu)

E-liquid review: Liégeois – MiNiMal line (Fuu) E-liquid ready to vape 10 ml – received by the manufacturer

Batch: MLI10-002

Declared base: 50 PG / 50 VG

Expiry date: 10/2020

Devices: Vaporesso Aurora Play Pod Mod – CCELL coil 1,3 ohm

Those who have been following us for some time, will certainly remember the French brand FUU, a historic e-liquids and aromas Parisian manufacturer, a company that here on our pages has experienced moments of true glory with some premium first-class creations. Who remembers Sublime Cacao and Tartine for example?

Today we come back to talking about Fuu, starting some reviews of a new line designed essentially for pod systems and above all for those who are in the delicate transition phase from traditional smoking to electronic smoking. MiNiMal, this is its name, is a line of 17 e-liquids in VPG 50/50 composition with the great peculiarity of being a line with nicotine salts.

Speaking of nicotine salts, very soon we will talk about them in an article/interview with the Parisian company, which since 2016, one of the first in Europe, has started working on this type of formulations. An appointment not to be missed.

Now let’s go back to the new MiNiMal line and the e-liquid under examination today, Liégeois:

Gourmand complexe aux notes de crème, vanille, “classique”, chocolat noir et café.

Deliciously complex with a touch of cream, vanilla, “classique”, dark chocolate and coffee.

Before starting the tests on Liégeois, a brief note on the packaging of this line: cardboard box full of information both on the product and on the manufacturer and, to make matters worse, PET bottle with unrolled satin label bearing warnings, various info on the product and instructions for use. Chapeau.

SMELL TEST

Undergoing the Liégeois olfactory examination and I immediately notice notes similar to an American coffee on a creamy and vanilla background. The scent is certainly inviting and it is anything but banal and simple, indeed I sense a certain complexity, especially when after repeated pressure on the bottle, I begin to perceive vaguely bitter peaks that would make me think to the chocolate ingredient. It will also be a “minimal” line, but this Liégeois after the smell test, looks like a very articulate e-liquid and promises quite well.

Ready for the vape test?

For this test I chosen obviously a pod mod, and for the occasion I decided to rely on the Vaporesso Aurora Play, in my opinion one of the most complete and performing pod mods of this first half of 2019. If you want to know more, click here to read our review.

VAPE TEST

Here I am ready to start with my vape test, but without first having explained to you the meaning of the term “Liégeois” which literally means “of Liège”, but in our case is evident the reference to the “cafè Liégeois”, a French dessert made of coffee, ice cream, whipped cream and a sprinkling of chocolate.

Liégeois manages to communicate all its complexity well even in vaping and shows itself among the other with a good aromatic load. It is not easy to interpret it, precisely because its structure is rather complex. An e-liquid that does not seem minimal at all. In inspiration, the scenario is that of a good synthetic tobacco, dry and clean, which is accompanied by slight acidulous nuances.

The puff is less creamy than the olfactory evidence had foretold; the vanilla stamps are more hidden in favor of toasted hints of coffee which are added to the central phases of the vape with the dry tobacco notes. The e-liquid puff after puff, becomes more and more full-bodied and the acidulous nuances perceived in inspiration now delineate better, going to compose a delicate flavor of whipped cream, almost surmounting the coffee-tobacco that subtends instead the whole recipe. Frightened bitter bits of dark chocolate complete the aromatic picture of Liégeois.

Without detracting from the name of the line, this Liègeois has such a complex and refined taste that goes beyond the manufacturer’s intention to create a simple line, available to everyone and for entry level systems. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like Liégeois is out of reach for everyone, but it is certainly something more and can earn a place of honor even in more performing vape systems.

The puff, thanks also to the presence of nicotine salts, is graceful and sufficiently soft even in the presence of a fairly high nicotine content (in my case 10 mg/ml). The synthetic sensation (because it is a “synthetic” e-liquid) is mitigated by the use of aromatic molecules of excellent quality and by the undoubted ability of the manufacturer to balance all the flavors present in the mix. The Parisian company produces a noble and more than ever lovable liquid, which will not struggle to satisfy the difficult tastes of those who are only at the first approach to the world of electronic cigarettes. The tobacco bed and the roasted coffee notes give that right dark touch and a certain familiarity with the world of analog cigarettes.

Pro: Articulated and refined recipe with nicotine salts. Much more than an entry level and minimal e-liquid.

Cons: Perhaps an e-liquid with more tobacco-like than creamy notes.
