After a long journey that took us from one side of the globe to the other letting us discover and appreciate tobaccos with unique and always pleasant characteristics, we arrive today at the end of our journey, started with the most famous of the tobacco Virginia, passing through its variations, arriving to the oriental dark tobaccos, touching in passing the liquids so called cigaros. So we want to end this incredible adventure that has allowed us to review for you the line V by Blacknote. Vaporificio and Blacknote gave us the opportunity to analyze their idea of single tobacco, allowing us to appreciate the unique characteristics.
Here is the protagonist of our lines: Havana. Reading the label we challenge anyone not to be immersed in the tropical lands of one of the most famous cigars, the Cuban. The name is certainly evocative, in fact, the dark Havana tobacco is treated with air and after a long fermentation makes it ideal for use in the manufacture of cigars.
The aroma that comes to us in the now usual packaging: a 10 ml bottle, this time the characteristic color of the label is a slightly darkish green that seems to match perfectly with the type of leaf typical of havana that is grown in huge expanses completely immersed in the typical green of the Caribbean places. In addition, the name and recommended dilution percentage are shown above: we are talking about 10%, with a maturation time of about 10/15 days. The result after mixing and after 10 days of waiting, it is a liquid with strong tones and a strong, clear and exuberant yellow.
This is the description given to us by the producers:
It is a cultivar suitable to produce of Cuban cigars. It is considered a dark air cured tobacco, and after curing subject to a vigorous natural fermentation process. With a fragrant taste and smell of the tropical soils of origin.
As now accustomed, the description is always a certainty and allows us to face our tests with that extra awareness, but it is also a double-edged sword, in fact we can not find ourselves in the idea that is provided to us. In this case we will probably find a strong fermented aroma in front of us, with flavors that are certainly plant and fragrant, just what we expect from a “cigarette” eliquid that with its slight presence but also aromatically concentrated, will try to conquer us.
So let’s pass to the olfactory test that will surely put us to the test, this because as we have been able to learn the character of cigarette liquids is certainly more docile and delicate, but very characterizing and structured with unique nuances. In fact, the first approach to the bottle gives us a graceful delicate grassy hint that sometimes turns on the leaf that gently caresses, the olfactory perception continues but we can not extract other hints and ends so melting into the air with harmony, giving us excellent impression that we can not wait to deepen with the olfactory test.
After a complex but positive olfactory test, we want to see ourselves even more clearly and we pass to the vaporization test, well aware of being in front of a really unique and well made tobacco. From the first puff the aromatic taste is really good, the thick and characteristic steam fills our palate. The first element to emerge is certainly the really elegant and light leafy note caresses us delicately, tickling our senses. Wanting to transpose our feeling into a visual form, we feel like describing it as if we were almost chewing a leaf with which earthy fragment between its veins. The steam in inspiration is very rich and tendentially sweet, not exaggerated, it is clear that it is still a dark tobacco. In exhalation, in the final phase of the puff we notice a small detail that we had almost escaped, “chewing” the steam we can perceive a delicate cocoa sensation that cocoa powder almost amarostico but really well blended in the known characteristics of this unique tobacco . A unique tobacco, sometimes very complex sometimes very simple that can deliver unique nuances to every cloud of steam and that always leads us to a new discovery. A sweet leaf characterized by almost earthy hues, which make our pupils wander in search of new sensory experiences like the one very similar to cocoa.
Havana thanks to its gently sweet and very aromatic notes lends itself very well to be used in the production of cigars, but with unique characteristics and nuances that are always different can be appreciated in the singularity taking us with you on a trip to the Caribbean regions.
The test also for this product was carried out for several ml, the duration of the coils was in line with the other aromas of the line with lighter tones, but the first decay of aroma we perceived around 7 ml that made necessary perform a new regeneration.
