And finally spring has opened its doors … Yes, perhaps in many corners of our peninsula the season of awakening is far from being revealed in all its splendor, and therefore today even as a gesture of good omen, the team of The Flavourist has decided to try for you a spring e-liquid, defined by the producer himself as their “first seasonal flavor”. We are talking about Honeysuckle Apple Crisp by Ripe Vapes, launched in the far April 2015. It’s true, three years in the vaping world are an eternity, but there are liquids that luckily survive the progress of the springs and the rules of the time. Ripe Vapes products fall into this increasingly narrow category of long-lived e-juices, without and out of time. It is no coincidence that we are talking about one of the world’s leading queen company in the production of premium e-liquids.

The bottle in our possession is in transparent glass of 30 ml, with childproof cap and glass dropper with medium-sized beak. The label, very pleasant to the touch for its satin effect, has a rustic style very well cared for its elegance. Starting from the spring of 2017, as a result of TPD, all Ripe Vapes products are marketed in Italy in the classic 50 ml Mix Series + addition of a 10 ml nicotine booster that will allow to obtain 60 ml of final product at different levels of nicotine.

Honeysuckle Apple Crisp is so officially described:

Honeysuckle Apple Crisp is Ripe Vapes’ first seasonal flavor. Launched in the spring of 2015, we are excited to offer our customers this handcrafted blend of light, sweet, bright and full flavoring. It may make one nostalgic for the changing weather, yet it is flavor you will crave all year round.

On the smell test Honeysuckle Apple Crisp reveals without delay what will be the main ingredient of his recipe: the apple. But if you focus more on the scent of apple that comes out of the bottle, you will notice that the scent actually hides some more specific information, you have just “to listen”… So a few minutes and a few dozen sniffs later, you can to better characterize the whole, recognizing clear notes of green apple “passata”, the full and rich scent of a true purée of green apple. Finally, a light “crust” background seems to complete the olfactory framework, creating curiosity for the upcoming vape test.

Unconventional, fresh, summery: this is what you’ll think of Honeysuckle Apple Crisp right from the first puff. For those who love Granny Smith green apples, this e-juice is a manna fall from heaven. The structure of the liquid is built right on a basis of Granny Smith purée which, in inspiration, conquers the papillae with the sweet and sour sensation typical of the fruit. The green apple, despite being the protagonist of this e-juice, can not however be said to be dominant, surrounded as it is in a new and imaginative way by a clear floral halo, which makes its entry into the bouquet in the heart of the puff. It is a floral stamp that remembers more or less the blueberry flavor, an aroma that is notoriously difficult to render with realism in vaping, and which often takes on a very floral and fragrant connotation inside e-juices. In the Californian creation, however, the floral nuances find the right connotation, harmonizing in a happy marriage with the apple aroma.

From the words of the manufacturer, we understand that this particular fragrance is conferred by the second fundamental ingredient present in this recipe, the honeysuckle. Every reference to all Italian and non-Italian reviewers who have confused the honeysuckle with honey is only purely casual…

At the end of the puff, especially during expiration, slight “toasted” hints shyly overlook the intense fragrance of apple and honeysuckle. They are imperceptible nuances, an elusive shading whose “crumble” notes, those of a real apple crisp, seem to have been held back and imprisoned. Every desire to perceive a sort of “crumble” dough is off by the decisive force of the floral-fruity complex.

That’s why at the end of each puff the feeling that lingers on the palate is that of having tasted “only” an excellent fruity e-liquid…

Unpardonable error of Ripe Vapes? We believe no. If in the intentions of the manufacturer there was the desire to create a fresh and spring product and absolutely not trivial, then, just limiting the creamy component of the crumble, and creating a perfect aromatic marriage between a Granny Smith apple and honeysuckle, the intent is been perfectly achieved.

A fruity unprecedented, spring-like, stimulating to the senses, sophisticated on the palate.

Pro: The aromatic combination of green apple and honeysuckle is of superior quality. High class aromatiers

Cons: The “crumble” component is imperceptible.
