El PatRón is a brand of aromas discovered by The Flavourist during the Vapitaly 2018 edition. This company accepted with pleasure to be present in big e-liquids and aromas archive. It is likely that many of you already know this brand, because it was discovered at the fair last May or simply by reading our reviews about it.
The fact is that the three products so far observed here on our pages, Explosivos, El Diablo and Tranquilo, have positively surprised the whole team, so much so that in the case of El Diablo they deserved the recognition as “Best Elegant tasting E-juice 2018” at the International Vape E-liquid Award.
If you like fruity e-liquids and you happen to come across this brand, we suggest you give them a chance, they might surprise you …
So here we come to the fourth aroma, El PatRón, La Puta:
Looking for excitement! La Puta is ready to whisk you away with its sensual and ‘juicy’ blackberry flavour. The blackmint provides some cooling in this intense mix.
The product is inside a 60ml unicorn bottle, filled with the now canonical 20 ml of concentrated aroma to which will be added another 40 ml of vegetable glycerine with or without nicotine. The final e-liquid composition will be approximately 70/30 VG/PG. Very interesting and very valuable are the info on the composition: in addition to the canonical propylene glycol, are named names of some molecules used. Perfect for the curious who want to deepen the chemical knowledge on e-liquids.
Even the packaging of the product is a good choice: a cardboard box made to represent the cell (with bars) where El Patrón is held. On the back, behind bars, we can also glimpse the face of the feared gangster. Inside the cell, ops of the box, there’s the aroma bottle with a colored satin label (every taste has its own color), clean and effective. All in a typically cartoon setting. Compliments!
On the nose, La Puta shows an incisive perfume of wild berries caressed by light tropical nuances. The fruity fragrance is nested within a clear alcoholic halo that seems to accentuate the aromatic imprint of the mix, reducing the level of naturalness. Among the alcohol fumes it is also possible to identify a fresh note accompanied by a delicate “sweet” background.
The general atmosphere revealed by this smell test is obviously very lively and typically summer tones, confirming what was anticipated by the manufacturer in its official description.
For this review I decided to use Geekvape Ammit MTL RDA in flavor chasing configuration. We talked about it here and if you trust our words, then you may find yourself with a very good atomizer at home. Little expense and a lot of yield. From the first puff, La Puta shows without fear its characteristic: a simple and fresh fruity mix, but with a certain appeal, thanks to a relatively sweet aromatic base. In the foreground, during inspiration, there is a fresh and mentholated sensation which, although not particularly intense, directs the vape on a very well known aromatic track. At the same time or almost with the fresh breeze, the fruity component of the mix is manifested, inviting immediately because it is framed within a soft and round background.
The flavor of the blackberry indicated by the manufacturer does not appear so obvious, indeed it is a little imagined; with La Puta I would say: welcome back to the world of “candy flavors”.
In fact, the aromatic stamp typical of wild berry candies cannot escape to an expert vaper, even if you cannot miss other light and interesting nuances.
In the heart of the puff, I discover that the bouquet is a little richer than I could imagine. Next to the main ingredient berry, I perceive some imperceptible veils of green apple that give a sour tone to the recipe. The balance between the molecules that make up the mix is good although, I repeat, it is the berry base (blackberry) that does not completely convince me, because it cannot completely mask its synthetic nature.
The Puta is a lively e-liquid but fortunately not overly bold, as its level of aromatic charge is always well controlled and measured; a common denominator for all the creations by El PatRón.
The puff is full and round in all its phases and during the expiration it is appreciable the intertwining of more bitter red nuances and sweeter nuances with a vague hint of banana.
The Puta is appreciated for its immediacy and despite its aromatic nature which is not entirely “natural”, it may well figure if it is vaped as an all day without commitment and without pretense during a hot summer day.
Suggested dilution: about 33% = add 40 ml of vegetable glycerine inside the bottle containing the aroma.
Steeping time: Immediately ready.
Pro: Fresh and undemanding recipe suitable for the summer season.
Cons: From an aromatic point of view, it is noted a little for its synthetic nature.
