After a long absence, our blog returns to host a review of the well-known Canadian brand Rope Cut, an e-liquid manufacturer for tobacco flavored e-juice according to the typically Anglo-Saxon mood that involves the combination of a tobacco component with other creamy or fruity ingredients.

But let’s come to us and start dealing with Merrimack:
A soft tobacco blend that combines hints of mint and vanilla.
If in the past you had the opportunity to read our review of Skipper, you will immediately understand, at least according to the official description, that Merrimack is essentially a variant of Skipper, a Skipper with the addition of a touch of mint. So Rope Cut decided to create a tobacco juice which, in addition to the presence of vanilla custard (it is the most common flavoring combination for tobaccos), was enriched with a hint of fresh mint. Lovers of mentholated tobaccos will be happy and enthusiastic, personally I have to admit that I am not part of that group of vapers, information that is useless because my personal taste will not affect in any way this review and the judgment that will give to the e-liquid .
Before diving into our review, some quick nods on the bottle in my possession. The bottle is made of glass with a child proof cap and a dropper beak tip. The well-made and cared label has a fine satin effect. The label shows information on the dangers of the contents and the recommendations to avoid contact with eyes and skin as well as to keep the vial out of reach of children and animals; there are also indications on the opening of the bottle, first aid treatment information in case of ingestion, and in case of contact with eyes and skin. The information about the ingredients is general, even if the percentage composition VG / PG is indicated and obviously the quantity of nicotine. Finally, there are no information regarding the expiry date. This bottle is not TPD compliant but we know that the manufacturer regulated its products for the European market.
On the nose, Merrimack immediately reveals the presence of a mentholated background that frames a delicate scent of vanilla. The tobacco base can not conquer my buds, harnessed by the presence of mint that, as mentioned, we know have a huge covering power. The general olfactory picture is however very pleasant, thanks to an absolute sense of naturalness and to an extreme aromatic refinement of the ingredients.
The time has come to grant all the fluidity of Merrimack to my Peerless eagerly waiting. Let’s start to drip!
At vape, the blend immediately shows its tobacco background, not perceptible to the nose but able to make its way during the inhalation. The tobacco base is simple, linear and rather smooth and probably has a hybrid nature (a mix between a minimum component of tobacco extracted with a molecular synthesis tobacco). The tobacco flavor soon gives way to the taste of mint, which, although it does not seem to have a strong aromatic load, has its basic arrogance able to dampen and minimize the tobacco perception.
The mint therefore takes the scene as it was obvious to imagine almost the whole of the puff, but it does however with a good sense of delicacy. During the puff it is impossible not to remember the typical taste of a Brooklyn Spearmint.
It is a classic green mint, scientific name Mentha Spicata. Its taste is fragrant and soft, does not assault the taste buds during the puff and above all does not exceed in freshness. Calibrated and meticulously dosed, it characterizes Merrimack indelibly but always with moderation. Presents a basic kindness that does not crush the aromatic structure of the e-liquid and allows at the end of the puff to perceive a fine and round vanilla cream. The mint-custard combination is elegant, velvety and refined and, above all at medium-low wattages, it gives the best of itself, guaranteeing the right balance of flavors. With the rising of wattages the balance between mint and custard tends to move inevitably towards the mint that takes strength, becomes more penetrating and stuns the vanilla nuances.
The tobacco with custard cream enriched with fresh green mint is a sweet and delicate recipe. Merrimack is a tasting e-juice but not really an all day, as long vape sessions will make the buds prey of the mentholated stamp and not able to perceive the creamy and vanilla notes in the long time.
Pro: A balanced and refined tasting tobacco flavored e-juice.
Cons: The tobacco base is very shy and in the long run, the mint tends to overshadow the presence of custard cream.
