Some months ago, we launched here on our blog a reviews series regarding the new line that Vaporificio, historic Italian manufacturer specialized in tobacco extracted e-liquids,presented during Vapitaly 2019; we refer to the 1.12 line composed by Innovatio, Eureka! and Primus.
1.12 is a line of eight shot aromas proposed within a 60 ml chubby gorilla, containing 20 ml of aroma to which a base will be added (if you desire with nicotine) to obtain a finished product of 60 ml in VPG 50/50. In any case, inside the pack, the manufacturer included a very practical dilution table to obtain the finished e-liquid in nicotine grades from 0 to 12 mg/ml.
In our opinion, the whole line packaging is very well cared, as well as the information available to the consumer are largely exhaustive: name of the product, composition of the aroma, batch number, expiration date and personal data of the producer.

Primus pays tribute to the first e-liquid by Vaporificio, to that famous experiment that gave birth to the Vaporificio company. Primus offers intense and enveloping sensations thanks to the hints of coffee, Kahlua and caramel, always accompanied by an excellent blend like the American Blend.
Coffe flavored tobacco-based recipes are not new for vaping, but they are certainly high-risk recipes … for failure. The coffee aroma, intended as an Italian espresso, is probably one of the most arduous challenges for all the e-liquid companies flavourists. A taste difficult if not impossible to replicate faithfully, and if it ever were, there is no certainty about the actual taste palatability in on vape.
SMELL TEST
Primus on the smell is a true aroma triumph. Intense and fragrant aroma of roasted coffee mixed with tasty caramel. The coffee notes appear firm and very structured; the caramel in the first instance seems to bring roundness to the overpowering taste of the coffee, while in the second instance a light vanilla bed aims to soften the whole mix. The olfactory experience is rich and at times overwhelming, although the tobacco nuances are lacking, predictably hidden both due to the impetus of the coffee and the aromatic lightness of an American blend.
For the vape test I decided to reuse the atomizer and the configuration already chosen for the Eureka! test, and therefore I rely on the qualities of the Siren 2 GTA 24mm from Digiflavor. I am sure that this device will make good the aromatic complexity that emerged from the Primus smell test.
VAPE TEST
Primus vape test exalts right from the start the aromatic notes of coffee, or rather a coffee drink; the manufacturer tells us it’s Kahlua, the most famous coffee-based liqueur in the world. During the inhalation phase, deep notes of roasted coffee beans emerge forcefully, mixed in a medium creamy and caramelized mix with modest alcoholic insertions. The recipe of the famous coffee Mexican liqueur is kept jealously secret, little is known except that, besides Veracruz Arabica coffee beans, there are also corn syrup, vanilla and of course sugar.
In savoring Primus, I seem to perceive a discreet creamy background with slight but significant nuances of vanilla and/or whipped cream. The sensory experience is atypical although highly tasty, because on the palate alternate themselves strong perceptions of bitter coffee and sweet nuances with round and sugary tones. The heart notes of Primus, continuing in the wake of inspiration, show how incredibly structured this e-juice is, even if gradually the sharp strokes of the coffee bitterness tend to fade slightly in favor of more delicate and sweet nuances.
The puff is strong and full-bodied and very intense from an aromatic point of view.
Strong, roasted and brown notes pervade all the vaping in every moment and dominate the scene limiting at the most the tobacco cues that are struggling to find space inside the bouquet. A faint tobacco veil touches timidly the palate at the end of the puff, but it is never perfectly recognizable. An American blend is notoriously a light and delicate mixture, made of Virginia, Burley and Oriental tobaccos, and it is easy to understand how in this recipe its task is not to be noticed, but only to be a silent friend of Kahlua and its vehemence.
In Primus, although the aromatic balance necessarily hangs on the side of a strong, decisive natural and overbearing coffee, the sensory experience is intriguing and always balanced; you never have the feeling that the coffee has been overdosed.
If Eureka! could be considered to all intents and purposes a classic real tobacco flavored e-juice, Primus has a different soul, it is more a creamy flavored coffee with light tobacco veils. Primus is a creamy tobacco with great character and it also proves it through a high aromatic persistence, able to leave the memory and the sensation on the palate for a long time of having just finished sipping a cocktail or a coffee drink.
