In France, the tobacco e-liquids, are generally those that The Flavourist team has categorized as “classic tobacco e-liquids”, and they are not manufactured by extracting the aroma from real tobacco leaves. The cousins across the Alps, in describing this type of e-liquid, often use terms such as “tabac gourmand” or “tabac blond” to indicate the presence, within the mixture, of some molecules or aromas that constitute a light dry background that reminds, with a little imagination, the taste of real tobacco.
E-liquid France gave us the opportunity to test today just one of these e-liquid and we willingly, since we have not dealt with it for some time, we will go to expand our archive of “classic tobacco”.
Relax, the name of the e-juice under our spotlights, was provided by the manufacturer in the mix version 50 + 10 ml in a classic chubby gorilla with a refined and pleasant satin-finish label.
Here below, as usual, the official description of the product taken from E-liquid France official website:
Un mélange de tabac blond léger avec une touche de café vanille finement assemblée. Doux et agréable, ce liquide sait se faire apprécier à tout moment de la journée.
A blend of light blond tobacco with a touch of vanilla coffee finely assembled. Sweet and pleasant, this e-liquid can be appreciated at any time of the day.
On the smell, Relax presents enveloping and intriguing notes of shortbread biscuits, inside a wider dark frame, of which there is a definite and penetrating scent of roasted coffee. Thin vanilla finishes hover and span 360 degrees within the bouquet, while I realize that it is rather evanescent, and to tell the truth almost not received, any ingredient or element that should remind us to be in the presence of a tobacco e-liquid. But on the other hand those who have been living for several years have learned that this is the great limitation of the so-called “classical tobacco e-juices”.
For the vape test, indispensable in this case as never before to clarify the real value of this e-liquid, I decided to use the new Elder Dragon RDA by Wotofo, for the occasion combined with a Vandy Vape Pulse BF 80W.
The vape test enhances the characteristics and aromatic qualities of Relax much better than the olfactory test. In inspiration, penetrating notes of roasted coffee beans take the scene, giving the e-liquid a bold and showy look. More real than ever, the realism with which the French flavourists have managed to present the coffee ingredient in a warm, balanced and very inviting mix.
In the heart of the puff, the coffee notes receive light and persuasive vanilla nuances, while the puff is rounded up perceiving tones moderately creamy and fatter than the top notes. The mixture becomes more full-bodied, energetic and vibrant. In these first days of winter, so stiff and cold, Relax is a warm blanket ready to wrap me up and give warmth to my evening vape. Yet continuing with my test, after giving Relax all the time it takes to better understand it, I find with pleasure how much this e-liquid can be a travel companion equally valid for my whole vaping day. A tasty all-day vape.
After the proper running of the coil and after a few milliliters vaporized, the aromatic facets of Relax are further enriched by presenting winking tail notes. During the exhalation phase, a discreet dry base with pale acid and straw shades makes its appearance: it is the typical and perhaps the most common “synthetic” tobacco imprint known in the world of e-liquids. Well inserted in the global aromatic plant of this creation, the tobacco note approaches the end of the puff with a light buttery veil that does not escape my taste buds especially in nasal exhalation.
Relax is a definitely tasty product, no doubt about it, and E-liquid France, while keeping its tone on a basically dark and typically wintery track, has introduced pleasing creamy cues that can lighten and make softer and more palatable this tobacco-creamy e-juice.
Pro: An optimally balanced and highly all-around tobacco-creamy.
Cons: A recipe well structured but not so very innovative.
