Award-winning in 2016 in different international contests, Twelve Monkeys Vapor fell into the “clutches” of the Flavourist team, who will test them for you, insatiable Vapers. Twelve Monkeys Vapor is a brand that needs no introduction: the Canadian brand, from Toronto to be exact, in a very short time made the taste buds of thousands of Vapers fall in love with its creations.
The e-liquid we are reviewing today is packaged in a transparent glass bottle with childproof cap and the usual glass dropper-tip with beak. The labels of all Twelve Monkeys products are very colorful, lively and engaging, perfect for the fashionable vape world. The information on the label range from the usual usage precautions to the product composition: ingredients, composition of the base, nicotine level and expiration date. All e-liquids by Twelve Monkeys were produced before the TPD entered into force but, since they’re wiedely distibuted in our continent, we are sure that the Canadian friends will provide for the necessary adaptation from the next spring.

Macaraz, subject of this review, is officially described as follows:
The macaques love their fruits, but also their pastries! MacaRaz unites these two with a delicious intricate confection of French macaron, nutty almonds and raspberry filling. Perfect for an exquisite treat on the go!
At the smell test MacaRaz reveals a very sweet liquid, characterized by a creamy milky background, garnished by an intense fragrance of wild berries. The aromatic load is undoubtedly high, but the impact is particularly inviting and after having deeply smelled it several times, a pleasant scent of ripe and fresh raspberries can be recognised among the forest scents. MacaRaz has the typical features of a modern overseas e-juice: Aromatic strength and extreme sweetness, that need an adequate vaping test.
I chose my black and shiny Recoil RDA with 0.24 ohm resistor to test MacaRaz.
The puff is sweet and fat with a really abundant fragrance. It envelops the taste buds without blinding them. The high presence of sucralose does not obscure the entire bouquet because is not perceived as an ingredient in itself, it blends well within a structure that is intended to be plenty of sugar and does nothing to hide its intention.
It’s difficult to separate the different vaping stages. MacaRaz is a well conceived unique ensemble, within which a creamy base, that I would define meringue, and delicate and sweet notes of a very nice and natural raspberry, blend together; the almonds quoted by the manufacturer are almost completely missing, although slight almond shades seem to emerge on the exhale (especially through the nose) and in the aftervaping taste. The meringue base evokes with good fidelity the features of a French macaron (you know it, right?) and the mix works well, especially if approached with an appropriate wattage. Not below 50 watts. MacaRaz is not born for a slow vape, it requires the right warmth and a certain compulsiveness. Thanks to the high concentration of sugar the aromatic persistence is high and equally enjoyable is the flavor released into the air. Even our neighbors deserve their share!
This first e-juice by Twelve Monkeys tested for you by our team leaves us pleasantly satisfied, without breaking our vapers’ heart. Our tastes are quite on the polar opposite to this kind of products but, as we will never stop saying, we are reviewers and we immediately recognize a good product. And MacaRaz is a good product. MacaRaz is a cheerful recipe, very fresh and modern, perfect as a happy “treat on the go”, extremely sweet but not too cloying. It’s a perfect “half day”. Did anyone use it before? Well, even better, we at The Flavourist like to be often the first…
Pro: well structured mix with the ingredients emerging as a unique amalgam.
Cons: the unique amalgam does not make it an e-liquid for a tasting session.
