Sciocco SOLO line by Blendfeel – Review

INTRODUCTION

SOLO acronym for Simply Organic Lasting Over is the name of a new aromas line that marks the official entrance of Blendfeel into the increasingly crowded world of organic tobaccos for non-rebuildable systems. Even Blendfeel therefore, albeit a bit late compared to other Italian manufacturers, decides to take the big step towards what objectively represents the biggest news of the last years for what concerns the vaping.

And it does not matter if, at least at the moment, the manufacture of tobaccos, clarified, distilled, selectively purified or call them as you wish, represents and is almost exclusively limited to the Italian domestic market, the fact is that this new category of e-liquid has made accessible the consumption of tobacco extracts to all types of vapers and not only to the most experienced.

Blendfeel tells us about the path that led to the birth of SOLO: “The goal was to produce organic flavours with organoleptic characteristics comparable to traditional flavours but that could reduce as much as possible the phenomena of deterioration of the coils making them usable in an absolutely long-lasting way also in non-regenerable systems and POD. But their use will fully gratify lovers of high-performance regenerative atomisers by allowing them to enjoy the more complex nuances lavished by these extracts.

SOLO when we were convinced that this goal had been achieved we presented this product to the international market. SOLO is amazing for its aromatic charge and completeness of flavour as well as its unusually long life at a high aromatic level in any vape system.

The production of the flavour is very good. The production of the aroma starts with the tobacco leaves that we have selected over the years, dedicating to each cultivar a specific treatment and processing that has allowed us to enhance it, obtaining the maximum aromatic expression.

More extraction and purification techniques have been used than we ever thought possible, but above all it was the modifications to the production equipment normally used that made the difference. The extreme engineering of the extraction process has always been our way of approaching extraction processes, SOLO is the translation of know-how acquired through years of study and experimentation.

All that remains to be done is to taste the flavour of our products. All that remains is to enjoy SOLO at any time of the day, both in the most frenetic moments and in those in which you can afford a meditative vape that paraphrases the SLOWVAPE concept coined years ago and that with SOLO finds further characterization and development.”

The SOLO line by Blendfeel currently has five shot aromas in the 20 + 40 format, or 20 ml of aroma inside a 60 ml bottle, to be filled by adding a base of 40 ml for a recommended final composition VPG 50/50. Therefore are part of this line the aromas Km0, Zio Sam, UK, Chiodo Fisso and Sciocco and, looking at the bottles of the products, we cannot fail to notice the beauty of the labels which in their simplicity give an undoubted “green” touch to the whole line.

The first aroma that we will review here on the pages of The Flavourist is Sciocco, officially described as follows:

Like the bread from which a Toscano Doc takes its name, robust, full-bodied and unforgettable.

SMELL TEST

On the smell Sciocco while presenting the typical hints of leather of a Kentucky fire cured extract, it has a lighter tone than a classic Kentucky extract. I perceive more lively grassy and vegetal nuances, while the smoky and stronger notes typical of this tobacco seem more in the rear. Overall the e-liquid maintains a good aromatic strength which I hope will develop further during vaporization; on the other hand, this is exactly what you expect from a Kentucky fire cured!

VAPE TEST

Devices: Innokin Zlide Tank MTL con Z-coil 1.6 ohm + Innokin Ares 2 single coil 1.10 ohm (Kanthal A1 28 AWG) with Cotton Bacon Prime

For the vape test I decided to use two Innokin atomizers, the Zlide Tank MTL with pre-made coils and the Ares 2 rebuildable atomizer.

Sciocco, the Tuscan Kentucky tobacco by Blendfeel in the SOLO version, is immediately intense and full-bodied and frankly, if I were not aware that it is a purified organic, I would find it hard to label it as such. This is not to say that there are no differences compared to the classic Kentucky extracts from the same manufacturer, but I would like to point out that from the first puff this aroma has no difficulty in emerging in terms of aromatic intensity.

On the inhale the puff is warm and decisive and the Kentucky tobacco manifests itself with strength without any compromise. Enveloping like a classic Kentucky extract, in my opinion rounder and sweeter and with almost completely absent amarostic accents. Even the hints of manure typical of this tobacco so rough and without frills par excellence, in the Sciocco are reduced to a minimum and in all phases of the vape appear almost imperceptible.

In the heart of the puff, all the roundness of Sciocco explodes in its darkest forms, adding a good dose of smokiness to the hints of tanning perceived during inhalation. The name does not deceive (among other things the reference is to the Tuscany region from which comes the Kentucky used for the realization of this aroma) because Sciocco is a tobacco extract which, although purified and therefore able to guarantee incredible longevity to the coils of any type of atomizer, it is to all intents and purposes a deeply robust e-liquid with more than good smokiness.

SCIOCCO FINALI VERDICT

The fire cured tobaccos, notoriously known not only for being the strongest and most “analog” in vaping, but also for being the most aggressive with the coils and cotton of personal vaporizers, are now opening up to new frontiers, they find a new dimension of use thanks to their “clean” versions. The Sciocco by Blendfeel from SOLO line is one of the most shining examples.

Sciocco is captivating, has a strong and persistent flavor on the palate and each puff is always deeply intense and full-bodied. Oh I forgot it is also a Simply Organic Lasting Over, but it’s easy to forget it by vaping it.

I have now reached my first decade of vaping and I can guarantee that the pleasure of being able to refill my atomizer for dozens of times with a Kentucky tobacco far exceeds the desire to be able to fully enjoy all the notes of a classic extract but only for a few milliliters. Meditate people…
